I painted this painting in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. While in the middle of working on another painting I turned to see an oncoming storm. I quickly grabbed a new canvas and began painting this scene. Most of it was done while holding an umbrella in one hand, bracing against the wind, while painting with the other. All the while racing against time. I love the intensity of the moment.
