Join me for a 5 week program in Foundation Drawing. This class is geared toward all those who want to learn to draw through strong foundations. Drawing is the basis of much of the visual arts. Many of us artists were thrown into our creative lives without the drawing skills we need to make strong images. Here is a class which will teach you the basics while expanding on what you already know. You will learn how to see, how to get it right through the use of, negative and positive space, sighting, measuring, squinting, value judgement, etc. You will learn to create strong compositions through the use of thumbnails, focal points, rules of thirds, the rule of odds, leading the eye, asymmetrical and symmetrical balance. We will discuss getting emotion out of your drawings through working with edges, values, contrast, atmospheric perspective. And we will learn to maximizing your strengths, while developing a strong supporting cast of skills. This class is for the beginner as well as those who just want to enhance their drawing skills. Please contact the Rehoboth Art League for registration information.
