Join me for 3 days of plein air painting in Delaware’s Rehoboth/ Lewes/ Milton area. The dates are May 17th, May 18th and May 20th. We will spend time learning about plein air painting, painting on location and critiquing our work.  We will meet at my studio on the morning of the 17th, ( 18487 Munchy Branch Road, Rehoboth Beach DE). Itinerary

Tuesday:

Arrive by 10:00 am at my studio

Talk on Plein Air Painting – 12:00am

Break for lunch then head out to our first location

Paint till 4:30pm. I will be coming around to help on an individual basis.

Wednesday:  

Meet at location 2 at 9:30 am

Paint till noon

Break for lunch

Talk on plein air painting.

Travel to location 3 and paint till 4:30pm. I will be around for guidance on an individual basis.

Friday:

Meet at location 9:00 am

Paint till noon

Critique workshop work

Head home

Materials

Materials needed:

Oil Paints:(I can recommend Utrecht or Gamblin as a affordable good quality paint, if you can afford better please do so)

Ultramarine blue

Phtalo Blue
Alizarin Crimson
Cadmium Red Light
Cadmium yellow medium
Cadmium lemon yellow
Cadmium orange
Burnt Sienna

Viridian Green
Yellow Ochre
Titanium White

For Acrylics or Watercolors, Contact Joe

Brushes:
Bristle: Flats, rounds, filberts and brights- any combination of sizes from 2 through 12
Soft synthetic or sables for oil: Flats- any combination of sizes 2 through 8
Palette knife and/or painting knife (specifically a small triangle one but any additional shapes or sizes are welcome)
Medium:
Linseed oil or walnut oil or poppy seed oil or an alkyd medium
Odorless turpentine
Cup to hold both
For acrylic: water and cup to hold it in, as well as matte medium

Canvas:
Stretched or panels, sizes: any combination 8×10, 11×14, 12×16, 16×20, 14 x 18

Additional supplies:

Canvas carriers
Rags or paper towels
Viewfinder (View Catcher)
Field Easel ( I do have some extras if you need to borrow one)
Hat
Bug Spray
suntan lotion
plastic gloves
sketch pad with pencil and blending stump and eraser
water and snacks
